Terms of Service

Welcome to Book Nest. By downloading, installing, or using our mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Book Nest, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Book Nest is a book tracking and library management application that allows you to:

• Catalog and organize your book collection
• Track your reading progress and habits
• Save reviews, notes, and quotes
• Connect with friends and share reading activity
• Sync your data across devices
• Import and export your book data

3. User Accounts

Some features of Book Nest require you to create an account. When you create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

You may use the App without an account, but your data will only be stored locally on your device and will not sync across devices.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Book Nest offers optional premium subscriptions that provide additional features. By purchasing a subscription:

• You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID account settings
• Refunds are handled in accordance with Apple's App Store policies

5. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you create within the App (reviews, notes, quotes, etc.). By using the App, you grant us a license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing our services to you.

You agree not to submit content that:

• Violates any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
• Contains harmful, abusive, or offensive material
• Attempts to compromise the security of the App

6. Intellectual Property

The Book Nest app, including its design, features, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by Web3 generation SIA and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Book information and cover images are sourced from third-party databases and remain the property of their respective owners.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Book Nest only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
• Use automated systems to access the App without permission
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code

8. Third-Party Services

Book Nest may integrate with or contain links to third-party services (such as book databases, barcode scanning services, or Goodreads import). We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of third-party services.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Book Nest is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Web3 generation SIA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data.

11. Data and Backups

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, you are responsible for maintaining your own backups. We recommend regularly exporting your data using the App's export feature.

12. Inactive Account Deletion

To keep Book Nest running efficiently and available as a free service, accounts with online profiles that have been inactive for more than six (6) consecutive months are subject to permanent deletion. This section applies only to users who have created an online profile — if you use the App without an account, your data is stored locally on your device and is not affected by this policy.

Inactivity is determined by the last time your app synced with our servers. Upon deletion, all data associated with your account will be permanently removed, including your profile, saved books, reading entries, book covers, friendships, and any other content stored on our servers.

Paid Subscribers

Users with an active paid subscription are exempt from this policy. If your subscription expires or is canceled, the six-month inactivity period begins from the date your subscription ends.

How to Stay Active

To avoid account deletion, simply open the App while connected to the internet at least once every six months. You can verify your last sync date by navigating to your Profile (tap "Profile" in the bottom-right menu) and checking the "last synced" date displayed under your username.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Book Nest at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account through the App settings.

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of Latvia.
