I did not expect a book about game designers to break me. It's about work as love, creative partnership, grief, and the worlds we build to survive the real one. Sam and Sadie frustrated me endlessly and I understood them completely. The Pioneers section alone is worth the whole book.
Synopsis
Two friends, often in love but never lovers, build video game worlds together across thirty years.
